Wow, its been a long time sinice I have put anything on here. The reason is that it just hasn't changed. Hot sun without a drop of rain. The forecast are suggesting there will be more chance of some rain at the beginning of March, but Krabi weather is so unpredictable.

Its been over a month since this was updated as really, the weather has stayed the same for the whole time. We had about 2 hours of rain on the 15th February but other than that it has been hot dry and sunny. Between now and April, we can expect it to get a couple of degrees hotter and the normal pattern is to start getting a few afternoon thunderstorms, but this is Krabi and whatever predictions are made, they could well be wrong. As always, its just best to be prepared for everything, so take and umbrella and suncream on every trip.

Well into dry season now, no rain for the last couple of weeks at all and none of the forecasts. Hot, blue skies and beautiful. The heat picks up between now and April so in Krabi by mid April it will be three or four degrees hotter than November.

The first post of the New Year. The last couple of weeks have been very similar weather. Nice sunny mornings for the most part with a few rain showers, some quite heavy in the afternoons and evenings. The weather forecasts have mostly been wrong, as usual predicting, much more rain than actually appeared.  No sea tours have been cancelled in the last 2 weeks.

The next week is likely to be more of the same. At the moment the forecasts are saying highest chance of rain on thursday or friday, but, that may well change. In Krabi, our best advice is always to just go with it but be prepared for both sun and a rain shower. Just do not trust any forecasts more than a day ahead.

Its a beautiful sunny morning, clear and bright. The weather forecast show that it should be raining right now!. Perhaps we will see a bit of a thunderstorm later in the day, but there is simply no way to predict it. 

Just to show how unpredictable the weather is in Krabi, yesterday at my house just 2km from Krabi was raining all day but the beach and Island trips had beautiful weather and not a drop of rain.

Its looking great for the next week or so, the thunderstorms seem to have gone away for the moment and we are in for some lovely clear days. It is quite normal to have some rain in December though, so best be prepared as usual. Luckily, they tend to start at about 4 in the afternoon so just after most tours have returned. Hopefully though, we will get some really beautiful weather and people can get on with the things they want to do without any interruption.

Back from holiday so can start the Krabi Weather Blog again. Its sunny right now but the last few weeks have seen quite a bit of rain. Most of the rain has been in short sharp bursts with some really quite heavy rainfall. There are likely to be some afternoon thunderstorms over the next few days, but hopefully the pattern of sunny mornings and days will stay the same. As always, just be prepared and take a raincoat if going out for the day.

Sunny days with a few showers is exactly what to expect during October in Krabi. Last night there was some very heavy rain at my house, but 1km up the road there was none at all. Just because its raining at your hotel does not mean it will be raining at the beach. As always, just be prepared and keep a rain coat or umbrella and suncream on you when you go out.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Last night and yesterday there were some serious rain showers. I guess its Krabi's way of reminding us why its called that! We managed to get a bit of sunshine yesterday to visit Aonang's latest activity, Krabi Fun Park yesterday. The kids had great fun riding the ziplines and rope walks.

Gorgeous weather at the moment, perfect azure skies with fluffy white clouds. The sort of light that makes every photo a postcard contender. Of course we know that it is still rainy season so this could change at any moment, but days like this are surprisingly common at this time of year.

Since the last post, on the 25th August, we did have a few days of quite heavy rain showers, but even on the days that it rained there was still plenty of sunshine and we did not have any trips cancelled due to rain.

A couple of weeks of really nice weather mixed with some heavy rain showers, there has been a lot of rain but it has tended to be in the evening and late afternoon. This works great for the day trips as you're hopefully just back from the trip just as it starts to think about raining. 

A bit of rain washes everything down greens it up and keeps the temperatures down.

Of course this is Krabi though, so there's always the chance of a sudden rainshower just at the worst possible moment, like all dressed up and just out for a nice evening meal and the clouds open and you get soaked to the skin meters from the door of your hotel. This happens to everyone in Krabi every so often. So, its always a good idea to have an umbrella with you :)

Its been a mixed couple of weeks with some rain, lots of sun and some windy days. Its quite normal at this time of year for it to be variable like this and if you have the time to enjoy sitting through the rainy days with a good book, then can be a perfect time to come. When the sun comes out it really shines!

Its been very windy the last couple of days which does mean that there can be some quite big waves. Its very unpredictable though but occasionally this can cause some problems landing at some of the Phi Phi Island beaches. The forecast is looking better for the next week or so with the normal pattern of dry sunny days and showers in the evening, but really, that can change quickly. Best to just plan for the best and be prepared for some rain.

After a rainy couple of days last week, the weather in Krabi is now really nice, hot sunny with fluffy white clouds. It being rainy season though, this could change at any time. Traditionally there is can a bit of rain in June but it usually comes in bursts with nice clear whether between.

We've had a lot of rain over the last few weeks. Just comes in burst mostly though and lots of sunshine too most days. There were a few days with rough sea but all seems calm for the moment. You can expect a bit of rain and plenty of sun over the next few days.

The last couple of days we have had a bit of mist and some very light rain early morning and a few thunderstorms around in later afternoon and early evening. Slightly hazy sunshine, but still nice and warm. The forecasts suggest that this pattern will continue for the next few days, perhaps with a few more inland showers in the afternoon on monday and tuesday.

Still the same pattern as the last few weeks. Sunny days and some thunderstorms in the evening. No real rainy daytimes and not one single tour cancelled due to weather yet this year.

The season seems to be settling down to the normal pattern for this time of year now. Nice hot clear mornings and then building up to some rain showers in the evening and night time. Things are starting to look nice and green again and the sea is a bit cooler and fresher early morning. Its still great for all the tours and things you might want to do though.

Rain, at last. The first serious rain of 2014 should cool things down and green it up a bit. There are some more afternoon showers possible for the next few days but it should be fine for the tours as the rain tends to arrive early evening. If any trip is rain because of the rain remember you can get full refund or change to another day.

Still wonderful dry sunny weather. Has been a bit windy over the last few days but nothing that would affect any trips, just keeps everything a little cooler. 

With less rain, the White water rafting, on some days can only do the 5km course and not the full 9km. But its still good fun.

There has been no rain yet in 2014 so everything is a bit dry. Temperatures are creeping up to the traditional high point in April. Planning things to do can go ahead without wondering about whether its going to be sunny :)

Getting steamy!

Temperatures right up there and no end in sight. Make sure you use plenty of sun cream and when out in the sun, use a sunhat and drink plenty of water. Its been quite windy over the last couple of weeks which makes it fee a bit more cool. Be careful with the sun particularly if riding a moped or in the sea as its easy to get burnt without noticing. No rain at all so far this year so everything looking a bit dry.

Lovely hot sunny days with a bit of wind. Perfect for everything. The waterfall at Phanom Bencha is not at its best at this time of year though, more of a trickle than a waterfall :)

The first post for 2014 and so far, the weather in 2014 in Krabi has been great. Hot sunny days and slightly cool evenings. No rain for over a week now and none on the forecast. The last few days have been a bit windy which is great, as it does keep it feeling a little cooler, but it does mean slightly bumpy rides on the speedboats. Dry weather can have an effect on the 9km White water rafting trips though.

Weather Warning

High winds at the Phi Phi Islands have meant that no single engine boats are able to safely travel and land at many of the Phi Phi Islands. Unfortunately this has meant cancelling 12 seat charters to Phi Phi Islands.

Weather on land and for local Islands is fine though.

Getting close to Christmas but no sign of any snow :) Nice days, a little bit of rain at night and a little bit of a breeze. Perfect for nearly everything you could want to do.

The weather is great at the moment, dry with nice fluffy white clouds and blue sky. Some cooling breezes but sunshine is strong, so be careful to wear plenty of sun cream!

After a couple of weeks of rainy days its back to sunshine at last! Forecast says its looking good for a few days at least.

The last few days have been rather rainy, some boat trips have had to be cancelled but all our customers rearranged thankfully. Many of the things to do in Krabi are not so rain affected though, kayaking, rafting and atv can still be fun with a bit of rain. The forecast is looking a bit better for the next few days, still some rain showers but with longer dry periods between. Hope so! (Remember, if you do book a boat trip with us and it gets cancelled, you get a full refund or reschedule. We always try to work things out around the weather.)

Its typical weather for this time of year; lots of sunshine and a few rain showers. The showers tend to be short but heavy, so best be prepared. If going out on a rented motorbike, take a raincoat, the palstic raincoats can be bought very cheap and do the job. Also be sure to put valuables like cameras into some sort of waterproof bag.

Today is a bit better, even some sunshine between the rain showers.  The good news is that the forecast is showing the weather improving from friday and getting better and better for next week.

Woke up this morning to the sound of rain. Looks like its going to be a bit wet for the next few days, not fantastic for boat trips, but then again, just maybe its not raining at the Islands. This weather though is great for ATV, Rafting and ok for Kayak tours. A sightseeing trip out to the Krabi Hot Springs would also be great, really make you appreciate that nice hot water! The wildlife, if anything, actually seem to really enjoy a bit of this sort of weather.

High season getting a bit closer now, the sky and the sea get bluer and the clouds get nice and white and puffy. There will still be rain showers for a while yet though. So, be prepared.

A few very short showers over the last couple of days but lots and lots of hot sunshine. The forecast looks like its going to stay this way. Perfect weather for all tours and and activities. Might even be worth thinking about cooling down with a kayaking trip or a bit of white water rafting!

The last week has seen only a little rain and lots of sunshine. Not one tour cancelled due to weather. Hope this continues for a while and our guests can get to see the best of Krabi. All the things to do in Krabi are more enjoyable when the sun shines!

August has already had its total average rainfall for the month! Good weather today and yesterday though. This is the problem with weather forecasts and Krabi, sunday was supposed to be torrential rain but turned out beautiful and clear all day. Best is to be prepared always carry a raincoat or umbrella and the suncream :)

Woke up this morning to gorgeous warm sunshine. After a few days of grey skies its always a pleasure to be reminded just how beautiful Krabi can be. The recent rain has given all the plants a boost of colour so that everything looks like it has been photoshopped to unnatural levels of saturation. Lets hope it stays like this for a while.

We have had a few weeks of rather too much rain, its looking better at the moment. The weather forecasts look ok for the next few days but you can be farily sure rain is never very far away. Forecasts are notoriously unreliable. Best is to be prepared, sun cream and umbrella!

The pattern at the moment seems to be nice hot sunny mornings and rainstorms in the afternoon. We find that the most accurate forecast for tomorrow is to look at whats happening today and just assume it will be the same :)

Rainy season is here! Krabi's rainy season is always unpredictable. On most days, at some place in Krabi there is some rain, but also, on almost every day, there is blazing hot sunshine. The rain tends to be fast moving and very local, there are days when you can walk down the street with a friend, their in the rain, and you're in the sun! (ok, I exagerate, but not much :)

If you have booked a tour and its raining, don't worry too much, the weather is usually completely different off the coast at the Islands.

It's getting Hot! Songkran is approaching and its nearly time to get out the water guns and ice buckets and It can't come too quickly. Everyone is looking forward to squirting some water and seriously cooling down.

Hot and sunny everyday at the momet with some nice cooling breezes. Its great weather for getting out to the Islands. 

Phi Phi tours and 4 Island tours are mostly fully booked the day before at the moment. This also means that the Islands are quite busy. I think this is partly due to the school Holidays in Thailand and some other parts of Asia. For Island boat charters, its a good idea to book as far in advance as you can.

The weather over the past few days has been perfect, blue skies, clear sunshine and calm sea. All the Krabi Tour companies are now getting geared up for high season, the hotels and restaurants are starting to fill up and everyone is hoping for some great weather to get the season started.

There have been a few not-so-nice weather days over the last week, but it looks like there will be a gradual improvement over the next week or so. Really this is the monsoon season so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to have some rain. Best thing is just to be prepared, always have a waterproof or an umbrella with you as welll as your suntan lotion and sunglasses.

There are some great things to do in Krabi when its wet though. One of our favorites tours and activities is ATV riding. On a sunny day this is fun, but on wet days, with big puddles and lots of mud it can be fantastic.

The monsoon is back, great for the plants and nice and cool after a couple of really hot weeks. Looks like the next couple of days are going to have rain too. The weekend looks like the best time to arrange any boat trips.

The promised sun has arrived, the good thing about it raining in Krabi is how nice everything looks when it stops; the beaches look fresh and clean, the plants look greener and the sky looks bluer.

The end of the rain is in sight at last! The monsoon is slowly moving away from Krabi. We might have to endure one more day before all the Tours can get back on schedule. The forecasts claim that from thursday the weather will improve.  We hope...

Looks like we are in for a few wet days. Its quite normal at this time of the year but still not great for visitors looking to refine thair tans! The weather off the coast also looks like rain so not great. Perhaps a days Thai Cooking Course, a yoga or spa session or for the kids a Muay Thai (Thai boxing) lesson would be a good idea? 

For Thais, rainy days are welcome, its a time to sleep, lie in a hammock and just let the day float by. For most people in Thailand it is an enforced holiday and very welcome. So, just do what the Thais do, catch up on some sleep, read a book, play a game of cards or watch a movie.

A few days of glorious sunshine to enjoy. Monday and tuesday are going to be hot, this is great news for anyone going taking a boat trip out to the local Islands, when its sunny, the sea looks just the right shade of turquiose!

A surprise of some sunshine and blue skies today despite the forecast of rain. Now, at 4:00pm its a bit overcast but the rain is still holding off. Forecast is for monday and tuesday to be the best days this weeks. Will be good to have some real sunshine in Krabi to dry everything out and give people a chance to get out and to enjoy Krabi.

Today was very overcast which made it a really good day for walking. We walked up to the top of  Kau Hua Nak, which is the mountain at the end of the road past TupKaek Resort. Its about 4km each way, and we all made it to the top. The view was completely white but it didn't matter as the walk itself is really nice.

Looks like the wet weather might continue and only improve on tuesday.

Today looks like more of the same, the forecast is for the rain to continue until monday but getting less, then from thursday will be back to full on sunshine. The rain over the last few days has been great for the garden but not so great for boat trips to the 4 islands or snorkelling. On the rainy days though it is possible to find things to do, perhaps a thai cooking course, a visit to Tiger Cave Temple. I actually enjoy a walk through Phenom Bencha National Park on rainy days, when its really heavy, just shelter under a tree... but it also helps to keep cool.
