2018 - 2019 High Season in Krabi

High season in Krabi is from about the middle of October until the end of March with the peak time being middle of December to middle of January.

During high season, Krabi can get very busy with most of the hotels full and most of the tours and activities booked almost to capacity. Although this does mean that everywhere is busy and on many days the beaches will be relatively crowded, its usual for the weather to be great every day, so, as long as you don't mind sharing the beaches and activities, then its still a great time to come.

The places that get really quite crowded are the smaller places and beauty spots that every visitor wants to see including the Talay Wak at the 4 Islands and particularly Maya Bay at the Phi Phi Islands.

Its usually possible though on both the 4 Island trip and the Phi Phi trip to find much quieter and just as beautiful places by just walking away from the center for a few minutes. Poda Island for example, which is also part of the 4 Island trip, is a long beach which takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other, and walking along here you are likely to find some spots with more than enough space to be able to enjoy some peace and quiet. On the Phi Phi trip, the same is true for Bamboo Island. This really goes for every tour, for some reason, most people stay close to the speedboats, normally if you walk in any direction for a few minutes, it becomes much less crowded and you can usually find a nice place. If on a guided tour, just check what time you need to be back at the boat. This is the nice thing about the private charters, when you find a nice place, you can decide to stay, even all day if you like.

In Krabi, every beach is a part of the National Park, so you never need to worry about walking into private property, you can wander to your hearts content and no-one will disturb you. If any areas in front of hotels have been marked, don't worry, they have no way of stopping you from being on that section of beach.

For the trips and activities during high season and Peak season, please bear in mind that this is the busiest time for all of the operators and they willl always have many guests at many hotels to pick up. The times for pickups during this time are guide times. 8:30am is given as pickup time for all hotels in Aonang for many of the activities, but, as Aonang is quite stretched out, it can take a while for the guides to get around all the hotels on their list, so realistically, pickup can vary up to about 30 minutes. The traffic on a couple of the roads can also be bad as buses will insist on stopping and blocking roads outside hotels. The operators do the best that they can, so please just try to be patient and help them to be efficient by being ready to leave. If you are not picked up 30 minutes after the guide time, then please just call us and we will check the status for you.

For how far to book in advance for high season, If you leave it until you arrive to book your trips it may still be possible to find a place on most of the tours, but we cannot guarantee that if left until last minute, it would be with our preferred operators. The same would be true for every agent either internet or shop.

Our preferred operators are the operators for each tour and activity that we know and trust to provide a reliable, safe and quality service. We do listen to our customers feedback and change operators when we feel it is in the interests of our customers. We try to go on regular inspection trips however there is a limit on how much we can do this. We will never book with operators that we know to offer inferior services.

If you do have any comments or feedback on any trip, we really do appreciate your opinions and anything that helps us to provide a better service.

We want everyone to have the best time possible in Krabi!
