Pomelo - Pomelo is a similar sort of taste to grapefruit, its peeled and can be either pink or yellow inside. Best when they are a bit riper and nice and sweet.

Mangosteen - one of fruits royalties, the succulent white flesh inside the hard purple shells is a real taste sensation.

Pineapple - They come in all different sizes and shapes from the tiny tennis ball sized ones to the massive super sharp varieties.

Durian - The King of Fruits. Don't be deceived by the smell, (which some say is close to rotting garbage), the taste is a really complicated array of individual sensations that combine to give Durian lovers the closest taste to heaven they can find. The shells are rather dangerous though with really sharp big spikes. Inside there are large seeds and its the flesh around them that gets people so excited. Don't eat too much though.

Rambutan - the red ones with green hairs - the best ones are the local ones when they are in season. You'll see lots of pickup trucks selling them out of the back of the car really cheaply and these are often the best. I can eat a kilogram at one sitting!

Long Kong - a yellow ping pong ball sized fruit. Peel off the outside to get segments that have a grapefruit flavor. The peel can be a bit sticky on the fingers.

Longan - yellow small curcular fruit about cherry size that comes in bunches - they have a hard black seed inside. Very sweet when ripe.

Chompoo - a red pear shaped fruit. Quite hard and crunchy and very juicy. A real favorite with the kids.

Star Fruit - you will only see in season at the markets - yellow when ripe and very tangy. A slice or two is so refreshing.

Dragon Fruit - bright pink with soft green spikes on the outside and white flesh dotted with small black seeds on the inside. Some can be a bit bland in flavour, but if you get a good one, they are fantastic. don't worry about eating the seeds. (Not quite sure why they named these cute fruit after a fire breathing monster though, If you came across a dragon that looked like one of these, I think most people would not be so scared.)

Falang - shaped a bit like a large green apple with a light green colour. They have a very firm quite dry flash and no two taste quite the same. Thai people often eat them with a little bit of chilli and sugar mix.

bananas - Bananas come in all sizes from the tiny finger sized to big fat ones and all in between. Some have very yellow creamy flesh and others are more dry. Some are best bbq'd. Full of fibre, vitamins and energy, a banana a day is really good for you.

Custard Apple - on the outside, they have a scaley sort of shell. On the inside its a sweet and tasty paste like texture.
