Great Fun for Kids

The guides are well trained but also great fun. Jimmy, the head guide, speaks excellent English and has many years of experience working in treetop adventure establishments. On our trip he really bonded with our children and managed to keep their attention throughout while at the same time making the experience a real pleasure. For older customers, the guides are just as vigilant, with one guide at every stage to ensure that even in the heat of the moment, all the safety procedures are followed..

After everyone is fitted with safety gear, helmet, gloves and harness, there are 3 low level training games to start with, just to ensure that everyone has got to grips with the safety procedures. Each harness is attached with two safety lines so that at least one safety line is clipped to a secure line at all times. The lesson was taught in such a way that even the youngest child in our group, aged 6, grasped the concept very easily. The guides were there at every moment though to ensure that they kept safe while at the same time teaching them to trust in their own abilities. (This is a real confidence booster the value of which should not be underestimated.)

As soon as the training is over, it's up to a treetop to the first stage to put the new skills to the test. The experience is kept interesting by varying the challenges at each stage, the first is walking along a single rope whith two rope hand lines to hold onto and involves unclipping and reclipping at the half way point, a useful step to allow the procedure of always having one line clipped before unclipping the next to sink in.

Then there is a swing on a zipline, then a skateboard in the sky and then the first of the long ziplines back to the tree house.

The next stages up the difficulty level slightly and include a Harry Potter themed broom stick ride, bicycling in the air, climbs on loops of string, walking on sticks, balances and swings. As we were a bit short on time, we skipped most of Program B and went straight onto the long zipline, 126 meters!

Conclusion

Our kids ranging from 6 to 8 years old loved every moment of their time at Krabi Fun Park and are already planning their next visit. I even tried much of the course myself and it is amazingly exhilarating. We'll definitely go again with some older kids as well next time to try out the more demanding sections. The staff were very friendly and at all times everyone felt completely safe.

If you have kids aged 5 or under, the best thing is to book the easiest package. If it turns out that they are capable of going for any of the more difficult games (and you are happy too....) then you can just upgrade to one of the other packages and pay any additional balance directly to the trainers at the Park.
