The Hong group of Islands are the slightly less famous cousins of the famous 4 Island group.
A little further up the coast and a little further away from busy Aonang, the group of Isands around Hong Island are just that little bit quieter but no less beautiful.
Hong Island itself has a lagoon actually cut into the center of the Island with steep cliff walls reaching up all around creating a quite magical effect.
For those looking to take the time to really explore the Island, there are kayak's for private rental on the Island.
The kayaks are two/three seat kayaks and are available on most days for 500thb per kayak. Please let us know in advance and we can reserve them for you.
A private longtail boat is a great way to explore this group of Islands. The boat drivers know all the hidden away beaches and the best places for a deep water snorkel.
The other Islands in the group are smaller but an amazing place to just cruise around and admire the scenerey.
Pakbia Island is one of these and has been dubbed Paradise Island (this is not a traditional name and I think was actually dreamt up by one of the local tour companies, but, it sort of works, so its stuck.) This island has a rocky area in the beach shallows which is perfect for snorkelling. Even for young kids, this is a great palce to get a glimpse of the underwater world and learn to snorkel. Even without snorkelling though, you can just stand in the shallows and be surrounded by fish.
Lading Island is famous for its caves where Bird's Nest soup nests are found. It also has a very small beach and some amazing rock formations and caves.
A few of these Islands are inhabited by the local sea gypsies, and fishermen who camp on the beach and move from place to place.
You might also want to stop at Daeng Island. Daeng means red in thai, and you'll see why it is called this. As long as the water is not too rough, although there is no beach at this Island, there is a rocky reef around it which is a great place to snorkel off the boat and perhaps see some bigger fish and other sea life.
Although the group trips are a little bit cheaper, with a private charter, you get to enjoy more time actually on the Islands and can usually find an isolated spot of beach to really give yourself that castaway feel.
For groups of 4 or more, it can actually be quite economical.
Although we have pricing below for the most popular trips to the Hong Islands, we can tailor any trip to suit your requirements.
We include a large cooler box of ice with drinking water, but you are free to fill it with any other drinks you would like.
A standard packed, thai fried rice lunch can be provided for 100thb per person, or there is a delicious chicken and rice with holy basil dish with a an egg on top. Both can be made non-spicey on request. Fresh seasonal fruit, like watermelon and/or pineapple will also be included.
Halal and vegetarian options are also available.

Price includes hotel pickup and dropoff within Aonang area only. Hotels and Resorts outside Aonang there will be an additional charge. Just let us know where you are staying and we will be happy to quote.

As this is a private charter, we can arrange pickups to suit you. The earliest pickup time for a charter would be 08:00am (from Aonang Hotels and Resorts), starting at about 08:00am gets you to the Islands well before the group tours turn up. If you like to have a lie in before setting off, thenn o problem, just let us know what time you would prefer.
Hotel pickup from Aonang only. Klong Muang or Krabi Hotel pickup can be provided for extra fee. Transport within Aonang will either be by Songthaew (pickup truck with covered back and bench seating) or by motorbike taxi. Depending on the number of passengers and hotel locations.
At the end of the trip, you will be transferred back to your Aonang hotel or resort. Hotels and resorts outside Aonang, we can arrange transport for additional fee. Just let us know and we will quote.
On the way back, you can stop off at Railay Beach for a look around and perhaps a drink or snack at one of the beach side bars. Just select the option in the booking form.
