Krabi Beaches and Islands

Krabi is more than just a beach destination, but it still has some great ones. Check out our Krabi Beaches page for information on all the best beaches in Krabi and Aonang.

Phi Phi Island, Koh Jum, Poda, Koh Hong, Tup Kaek, all are beautiful Krabi Islands and whether you are looking for total solitude or a vibrant beach bar, there's somewhere in Krabi for everyone.

See our Krabi tours page for day trips to the Krabi Islands and Koh Phi Phi. Krabi Island Tours can also include activities like kayaking, snorkelling and rock climbing. Whether you decide to travel by longtail or by speedboat, you cannot fail to be amazed by the beauty of Krabi's Andaman Coastline. Don't forget the camera!

Do remember that some of the Islands do get very busy, Phi Phi, James Bond and the 4 Islands do get dozens of group tours from Krabi and Phuket every day, so, it can be a bit difficult to see them as you like. But, they are still beautiful and then for your real isolation, just go to a few of the beaches on the mainland. Klong Muang beach is usually deserted and although its not on an Island, it really is just as beautiful.

Even at High season its not busy, I went to Klong Muang beach recently and it was almost empty, just a few people wandering along the beach, lovely weather, high tide and clear water. Any beach as beautiful as this in Phuket or Samuii would be a struggle to find a place to put your towel. Krabi has by far the greatest beaches in Thailand (IMHO:)

While Krabi still has a long way to go before it gets to Phuket or Samui size, it now has a full range of everything and yet still keeps its fishing village atmosphere. For people looking for a view of the real authentic Thailand, this has to be something of a golden age, it won't last long though, the rate of development is incredible, new resorts, roads, housing developments seem to be popping up all over the place.

There are also a few nice beach restaurants at Klong Muang Beach, just on the corner by Nakamanda Resort, a really nice place to spend a nice evening.

It does seem though, that the local government are actually doing a great job of controlling the building to within the regulations. In this way, the National Park status that Krabi holds really helps. We at Krabitrek just hope that it stays this way.

There is now a total ban on styrofoam and single use plastic bottles at the Islands, just make sure that you take all your rubbish with you when leaving the Islands. Even if you are on an organised group trip.

Please be aware that the weather can change quickly in Krabi and during Island Boat trips it is possible that the ride will get bumpy.
